Women's Retreat

Even if you’re not a canning guru, my guess is that you still know the importance of a good seal on canned goods. We’ve all been told by someone (most likely our mothers) not to buy canned goods if the lid “springs back” when you press on it. There are times in the canning process when a lid doesn’t seal correctly, and it may need to be re-processed to get a good seal. Did you know as a Christian, we always have a good seal? Twice in Ephesians (1:13 and 4:30), Paul refers to the Holy Ghost as our seal. In Ephesians 4:30, Paul commands us, “And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are selaed unto the day of redemption.” He then goes on with a list of sins to put away and a list of kindnesses to put on. One of the best parts of our seal—the Holy Spirit—is that He gives us the power to do the will of God!
